Epidermic Attachments

2023 Acrylics on canvas Exhibition view at Kourd Gallery, Athens.

Epidermic Attachments came into being by applying the frottage technique after pouring paint onto three separate unstretched canvases. These canvases were subsequently cut to match the contours of the frottage painting and then meticulously stitched together, resulting in a singular piece.

Frottage, a technique embraced by the surrealists to interpret their artworks, plays a pivotal role in my creative process. I intentionally incorporate chance techniques in my painting, striving to break free from representational language and allowing for an interplay between controlled and uncontrolled processes to take place.

This artwork is currently available and located in Athens, GR.
